Mizrahi, Yitzhak


Son of Esther and David, was born in 1927 in Istanbul, Turkey, and attended elementary school. From his childhood, he moved to Zion, and in 1944 immigrated to Eretz Israel. Upon his arrival he studied for two years at the Mikveh Israel agricultural school and went to agricultural training in Sde Ya’akov. He worked in various markets. At the outbreak of the War of Independence he volunteered for combat service. At first he served in the Palmach, and from there he moved to the “Paratroopers” battalion of the Palmach brigade “Harel” and was one of the pioneers in Jerusalem. Was filled with feelings of vengeance, after many of his friends fell, and there was no fear and cowardice in battle. Yitzhak was killed during the bombardment of Kiryat Anavim on June 10, 1948. He was buried in Sheikh Bader A. On September 10, 1950, he was transferred to the military cemetery at Mount Hermon Herzl in Jerusalem.
