Mizrahi, Shimshon

Son of Rachel and Menachem. Shimshon was born in Kiryat Gat on July 28, 1959. Was the eldest son of a family of eight children: four sons and four daughters. Shimshon was educated at the “Son of Tzvi” school in Kiryat Gat and continued his studies at Rogozin High School. In 1979, about a year before his release from the IDF, Samson married Chava. Over the years they had three children: Etti, Sagi and Koran. Shimshon was drafted into the Israel Police Force on January 5, 1983. He served for five years in the Gaza police force, and in 1988 the family moved to Eilat after Shimshon received an offer to work at the Eilat station. In 2001 Shimshon became ill with cancer, and for a year and eight months he fought for his life, but his condition deteriorated and he died on February 21, 2003. A senior sergeant, Shimshon fell during his service. He was buried in the military cemetery in Kiryat Gat and left behind a wife and three children
