Mizrachi, Yaakov (Jack)
Son of Bella and Moshe. Born in Tel Aviv in 1922 to a family of many children, the father was born in Israel and his mother was born in Egypt, where he moved to Holon and where he studied at the Bialik School, where he joined the British Army and was assigned to the 606 Company. He served in Egypt and the Western Desert at Marsa Matruch and Tobruk, and on 1 Iyar, 28 April 1941 he was sent to Greece with the forces that were meant to stop the German invasion of Palestine. He left parents, three brothers and two sisters. This fallen hero is a “maklan” – a hero whose burial place is unknown.
