Son of Malka-Reina and Abraham, was born in 1903 in the Old City of Jerusalem. Where he grew up and studied at Talmud Torah and at school. Was a simple Jew who could be trusted with everything. In his last years he worked as a guard at the Egged bus station in Jerusalem, but he always fulfilled his duty as a member of the Hagana, and in every national action that was according to his ability. In 1933 he was arrested together with the mukhtar of the Jewish Quarter in the Old City accused of helping to bring “illegal” immigrants and hiding them from the eyes of the regime. In the wake of the bloody riots of 1936-1939, he organized the guarding and protection of the Jewish Quarter and the area near the Western Wall. On December 29, 1947, the United Nations General Assembly decided to divide the country into two states, left its work at the Egged station, devoted itself to the Mishmar Ha’Am organization in the Jewish Quarter and served as its head, And during the bitter battles, after the British left the country, he continued to carry out his duties with courage and devotion, while carrying out his duties of bringing food to the residents imprisoned in their homes during the fighting in the streets of the Old City. The name was engraved on the monument erected in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in memory of those who died in the Jewish Quarter and the memory of fighters who fell in the battle for Jerusalem And were brought for burial on the Mount of Olives
