Meyuchas, Yaakov (Jacques)


Was born in 1928 to a family of rabbis from Jerusalem. He completed elementary school and two high school classes and later worked as an electrician. Yaakov was the active spirit in activities and entertainment in the “Young Maccabee” branch, generous-hearted in helping others. When he was 16, he joined the Haganah and when he was 19, he went on a year of service in the “Maccabee Hatzair” training program in the framework of the Palmach in Givat Haim. “In spite of everything, despite everything, we will bring immigrant brothers in all ways.” After the year of service, he joined his movement members in the “Solelim” group in Ra’anana, and in the fall of 1947 he went to Jerusalem for healing. He continued to serve in the Michmash Battalion, where his father lay critically ill at home and accompanied convoys and participated in battles in Talpiot, Mekor Haim, Hartu When he begged his mother after his father’s death, he replied: “I am not the only son there, if every mother holds her son in the house, who will fight our war?” About a month ago After the death of his father, on March 24, 1948, he accompanied the convoy to Neve Ya’akov and Atarot, and the convoy was attacked by an Arab mob and a fallen soldier, according to another version, Eisenberg ran to call for help from the scouts, and on the way they were hurt and fell. He was buried in Sanhedria in Jerusalem. On the 13th of Elul 5711 (13.9.1951) he was put to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem
