Mansur (Doriv), Tzadok-Ovadia
Ovadia, the eldest son of Galia and Saadia of Yemenite origin, was born on 9.10.1951 in Moshav Ahiezer, where he completed his elementary studies at the moshav’s high school and completed his high school studies at the yeshiva. Handsome, with almond-shaped eyes and big black and curly hair, and the neighbors used to tell his mother that these eyes would bring them light in the house, and in everything the child would look at, success would prevail. Ovadia was drafted into the IDF in early 1969. After completing basic training, he was assigned as a cook in an armored unit in the southern region, where he became very fond of soldiers in his unit and devoted much of his spare time to his work. When he came home on vacation, he asked all his acquaintances and family, but despite the worries of earning a living that weighed heavily on them, it never occurred to him to replace the service with a yeshiva or a work group. At home, he used to say, he gave himself all to the national concern of the people. When he was discharged from regular army service, he was called up for reserve duty, and from time to time he was called for periods of active reserve duty, where he earned a living by working in mechanics and helping his family. On 28 Cheshvan (23.11.1973), he was killed while serving in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, and left behind his parents, four sisters and six brothers, and was promoted to the rank of corporal. His family commemorated his name by purchasing a Torah scroll.
