Manovella, Jacob


Ben Tzippora and Ze’ev. He was born on February 11, 1974 in Ramat Gan. He studied at the Givat Hashalom Elementary School in Tel Aviv and in the Rogozin Junior High School in the city, then studied at the Max Payne High School in the mechanics track, and was a sports enthusiast and participated in judo and boxing circles. Yaakov took a driving course in a pre-army course and was drafted into the IDF in late June 1992. After basic training, he was assigned to the Civil Administration Unit in Gaza as a driver. On the 20th of Tishrei 5753 (20.10.1992) he fell during his service and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Holon. Survived by his parents, three brothers and four sisters – Eli, Vita, Dina, Arie, Uzi, Hani and Ortal. In a letter of condolences to the family, his commander wrote: “In the brief period of his stay with him, Yaakov managed to leave a good impression on his friends and commanders.
