Malka, Zion

Malka, Zion

Son of Nissim and Sultana. He was born on the 22nd of Tishrei 5749 (22.10.1948) in Casablanca, Morocco. He immigrated to Israel with his family in 1962 and studied at the Moriah elementary school in Ashdod. He was a member of the Scouts movement. He spent two years in the movement – as an apprentice, and then served as a counselor in the movement for about a year. After his work at Tzofim, he moved to the Hanoar Haoved movement and led the movement for a year and a half. He continued to study at the religious high school in Ashdod and later in the Air Force Technical School in Haifa. He did not like to idle at leisure, but sought useful employment. He found an outlet in building airplane models and was very fond of this hobby. Over time he made a variety of airplane models for himself. He found great interest in aviation and was deeply interested in the books on this subject. Zion was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of June 1970 and volunteered for the Air Force on May 15, 1971, during which he fell during his service. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Ashdod. His memory was raised in “Atid”, published by the student council of the religious school.
