Maimon, Shalom


Mazal and Yosef’s eldest son. Shalom was born in Jaffa on June 16, 1952. The family lived in Jaffa and then moved to Netanya, where Shalom studied at the Shahal Elementary School in Netanya and completed his studies in his city. From the time he was a well-behaved man, he was very well-liked and loved, and he helped his parents and many friends when they needed it. He passed the first training course in the corps. His friends and commanders testify that Shalom was a warrior in every aspect of his life and fulfilled his operational tasks in the best possible way, and Shalom’s main hobby was the sea, and he was an excellent swimmer who loved to fish and sail in the open sea. 1971) Shalom left his base in Ashdot Yaakov in order to fish in the Yarmuk. During the fishing, the dam was breached and a large wave swept Shalom. Despite being a talented and fast swimmer and despite his attempts to get out, he did not succeed, and he drowned in the place he loved. Sergeant Shalom fell in the line of duty. He was nineteen when he fell. He was laid to rest at the Netanya military cemetery.
