Eli, son of Miriam and Rachamim, was born on October 6, 1952 in Petah Tikva. He grew up in Moshav Sdei Chemed, where his family lived. He completed his elementary studies at the elementary schools in Shdei Hemed and Neveh Yamin, and completed his high school studies at the Amal vocational school in Petach Tikvah, where he graduated as an electronics technician. As early as his childhood, he excelled in cleverness, in the correct view of things and in finding a quick solution to problems. His most conspicuous feature was his ability to make friends with anyone he found in his way – large and small. He was active in the moshav’s social club, was a member of the Hanoar Haoved movement, and played in the soccer team of Hapoel Hadi-Chemed. “I remember him during the class trips, when he always came from the first to every place, I remember him in moments of concentration, when he was totally conversant with the class, he took part in it with good taste and honored us all with his charming smile. The best side – quickly, with precision and concentration, but above all I remember Eli volunteering for any job that requires cleverness and organization. ” His friend Rochelle said: “Eli was always gentle and yes, he was always considerate of the other.” His friend, Amnon, confirmed this: “Eli was a gentle soul, a favorite of all, a quiet boy who was connected to his family and proud of her. Eli loved the farm and the work in the field. When he was given the opportunity to work in his profession as an electronics technician, he preferred to help his father with the land. “I remember the days when Eli got up on a rainy night, when a storm of wind outside, abandoned a warm bed, overcame the feeling of natural laziness at night, and ran to the field. He would close greenhouses that broke through the winds, and make sure that the plants that grow there were not damaged, and Eli also helped his mother – caring for the little brother, the housework, and helping his brother’s studies – and Eli was a central figure in the house. Eli was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in late July 1971. He completed his course in aviation, but was transferred to the Armored Corps in the course of his service, completing a tank course, a tank tank course, a tank driver course, and a tank commanders course. In the courses, all of them attained high marks, and in the course of the NCOs he was called an outstanding trainee, and later he remained at the Armored Corps School, where he was trained as a regular sergeant. He had wonderful reactions as a commander. His delicate, quiet and modest image was so good that it was never forgotten. “The Yom Kippur War found Eli and his unit on the southern front, and the unit took part in the battles of braking and breaking out of the Suez Canal, as well as rescuing victims from the battlefield and supplying ammunition. On October 16, 1973, in the area of the Chinese Farm, a shell hit me and fell. He was brought to eternal rest in the Petach Tikva cemetery. Survived by his parents, three brothers and a sister. After his fall, he was promoted to First Sergeant. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Eli stuck to his mission with courage and recognition of his mission.”
