Lipschitz (Livshitz), Alexander


Son of Michael and Bella, blessed memory. He was born on the 16th of Tishrei 5706 (September 16, 1945) in Alma-Tha, Russia, and immigrated to Israel in 1972. Alexander was born at the end of the Second World War, while his father served as a surgeon in the Red Army in Berlin and was the youngest of the three children of the Lifshitz family. And after graduating from the Moscow State School, he decided to turn his energies and talents to the fields of mathematics, physics and literature, where he saw his world and his future, continued his studies at the Moscow State High School and then studied for five years at Moscow University In the Faculty of Mathematics, and completed his BA and MA studies three years later He continued his studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and studied for his doctorate, while he devoted himself to sports and loved to practice and develop his physical fitness, and he loved to climb mountains and swim, And was assigned to a reserve service in the Haga unit in February 1973. On that day, on the 30th of Elul 5734 (30.8.1974) Alexander died during his service, and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery. In Givat Shaul. Survived by a wife – Sophia – a daughter and a son born months after his death and named after him, father and two sisters.
