Levin, Shimon (Sonia)


Shimon (Sonia), son of Sarah and Isaac, was born on 15.4.1949 in Moscow in the Soviet Union and immigrated to Israel in 1972. Shimon was drafted into the IDF in July 1973 and assigned to the Artillery Corps after completing his basic training course in the course of artillery fire, but during the course of the Yom Kippur War broke out and when the war broke out he was transferred with the students to the Golan Heights and participated in the battles to repel the Syrians. 5740 (7.10.1973) Shimon’s batalion was ambushed by tanks and in the exchange of fire he was hit and killed and brought to rest in the Kiryat Shaul cemetery.
