Levi, Salomon


Their son was the firstborn of Menashe and Shoshana. He was born on August 28, 1934 in Catania, a port city in the south of Sicily. Salomon studied in several elementary school classes in Italy. But because of World War II he was forced to stop his studies and his family were transferred to a concentration camp. At the end of the war he did not continue his studies because he had to support the family because the eldest son was. The family arrived in Israel in 1948. He was drafted into the IDF in May 1952 and in the Golani Brigade, he completed his regular service, participated in the Sinai Campaign, worked in all kinds of jobs and was a construction worker. He was a disciplined, courageous, open-hearted soldier who showed a desire to fulfill every role he was charged with, and on the second day of the battles, he fell on a battle in Tel Dan, in the Golan Heights, with a direct hit by the Syrians. He was buried in the military cemetery in Nahariya and was later transferred to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
