Levi, Nissim

Son of-Eliezer Sarah and Jeanette Levy. He was born on the 12th of Tishrei 5713 (October 2, 1952) in Tel Aviv. He completed his studies at the Nachshonim Elementary School in Daughter of-Yam and studied for two years in a vocational high school in Jaffa the electrical, mechanical and mechanical professions. His elementary school teacher remembers him as “a blonde with green eyes and always smiling, full of life and we loved him very much, very active in the classroom, with the children, a loyal friend and always willing to help or take part in one of the roles I cast.” In his free time he read books and listened to music, but most of all he was attracted to airplanes and spent many hours assembling airplane models. Nissim decided to build his future in this field, and as part of a pre-military course he was sent to the Technical School of the Israel Air Force and enlisted as a jet mechanic. He was also fond of everything in the technical school and was known as the “clown” of the guys. He did not try to stand out and make an impression, and he always did his job with a smile, modestly and quietly. Nissim was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of August 1970, after completing his studies at the Technical School, and was sent to one of the Air Force bases where he was employed by his profession, and he received the attention of his commanders in his serious and thorough attitude to his work, 17.3.1972), Cpl. Nissim was killed while serving in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, and in a letter of condolences to the family, his commander wrote: “Corporal Levi Nissim did his service with great devotion and was loved by his friends The soldiers and his commanders saw him as a model soldier. “
