Levi, Mordechai


Son of-Itzhak-Nissim and Shulamit. He was born on Friday, February 25, 1920, in Yemen, where he received his early education in a “cheder” and later studied in “Yeshivah” and became an outstanding talmid chacham. In which he saw the destiny of his life, and immigrated to Israel in 1949. He was drafted into the IDF in January 1951, and his service was carried out with joy and a sense of national duty. On the 30th of Nisan 5711 (May 6, 1951), he was killed in a battle in the Jordan Valley near Lake Kinneret and was buried in the Afula military cemetery on 24 June 1952. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
