Jacob, son of Dina and Elijah, was born on February 16, 1950 in Jerusalem. Afterward he graduated from the Brandeis School of Fine Arts. Yaakov was a member of the Ha – Shomer ha – Tsa’ir youth movement, and after graduating from high school, he was a member of the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed movement. He participated in all trips held within the framework of the youth movement. The trips were his favorite sport, and he loved both walking and staying in the free air and hiking in nature. From childhood Jacob loved nature and was interested in it, and especially loved the connection created with nature while traveling and living in nature. He loved the country and its landscapes, and for it symbolized both the beauties of the landscape and its connection with the homeland and the state. On each trip he would re-admire the beauty of the country. He loved the country and admired the generation of its founders, headed by David son of-Gurion. This admiration brought him to work within the framework of the Rafi party, arguing long with his friends about the state and its values, and his friends defined him as “the son of the state.” As part of his sports activities, Yaakov mainly liked the tennis and bowling games, and spent many hours developing skills in these games He had three large collections, which he spent many years from childhood: a collection of stamps, a collection of banknotes and coins, and a collection of antiquities, and he devoted great efforts to collecting, sorting and arranging items, At the beginning of November 1968 and was assigned to the Armored Corps. After basic training, he completed a tank training course, and for a time served as a tank driver and a tank gunner. He completed a course for tank commanders and served as a tank noncom and spent most of his army service in the Suez Canal area, including the War of Attrition, during which he was deeply involved in his Lev and soul, After completing his army service, he was discharged and assigned to a reserve unit, where he was called for periods of active reserve duty After completing his military service, “And there he completed his studies for a matriculation certificate He was always a good and loyal friend, and he believed in a friendly relationship between friends, always saying that a good friend was more important than a good brother, and he did so in his willingness to give and give his friends as much as he could. He encouraged his friends in the preparatory program to study and devote their entire energies to studies, and was willing to help anyone who needed help in his studies, Where he met a contractor who had immigrated from the United States. Already during his army service, the two became friendly and trustworthy, and after completing his studies at Beit Berl he was hired by the same contractor. He moved to Petah Tikvah, where he completed his studies in a high-ranking work manager course, and even completed the construction of four large buildings. Jacob was loved by his employer, who trusted him and treated him as if he were his son. Even in the short period he worked as a foreman, he excelled as a responsible and quick worker, and the contractor wanted to send him on vacation abroad. At that time, he enrolled at Bar-Ilan University in the economics field, and the announcement of his acceptanceYemudim arrived at his home in July 1974. In the Yom Kippur War, Yaakov participated in the braking battles against the Egyptians in Sinai. On the 9th of Tishrei 5734 (9.10.1973), in the battle that took place in the area of Teuz “TV”, his tank was hit and he was killed. A month later, his family was notified that he was missing, and only after four months of fear, running, and hope did he learn that he had fallen into a trap. On the 7th of Adar 5734, the day of the death of Moshe Rabbeinu, Yaakov was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, leaving behind his parents, brothers and sister.
