Levi, Ilana


Daughter of Gerda and David Hibel. Ilana was born in Tel Aviv on March 19, 1947. The family says: “On the Purim holiday of 1947, she was born to parents who immigrated to Israel following the rise of the Nazis to power in Germany and Austria and served in the British army in Egypt, where they met, “At the age of one, when the War of Independence broke out, a bullet penetrated the apartment of the room where the baby Ilana lived, on Rambam Street in Tel Aviv, between the Carmel Market and Nahalat Binyamin pedestrian mall, and sliced ​​her bed through the wall above the bed to the neighbors’ apartment. She studied in Tel Aviv, at the “Aleph” school on Tchernichovsky Street. She continued her studies at a professional high school in the field of clerking and bookkeeping. She completed her studies with good grades, enlisted in the IDF and served in the army. In the army, too, its character has taken its toll. After the army Ilana married Sami Levy and together with her she brought three children to the world: Dalit, Doron and Dana. Upon her release she worked in an advertising agency. A few years later, Ilana was admitted to the police after tests, when she met the requested criteria. She served in the Ramat Gan Police Department as a regular policewoman in the Claims Department. Ilana worked with honors, with very high motivation, and responded to everyone who needed something, provided everyone with good information and advice. At work, she knew how to pamper everyone, including prosecutors and lawyers, with her special delicacies and well-known dishes. In her last years, Ilana became a grandmother, and with her two grandchildren she devoted herself to every free moment. On 21.11.1999, an advanced sergeant, Ilana, fell during her service. Fifty-two years old in the fall. She was buried in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, Tel Aviv. The family members wrote: “Always remember her image as it was: nice to everyone, energetic, good and devoted to everyone until the last moment.”
