Levi Harchar, Avraham Leopold


Son of Matilde and Dr. Yitzhak was born on February 27, 1908 in Jerusalem to a Sephardic Zionist family and his father was an active member of the Yishuv, and in that spirit he educated his sons, He moved to Ramat-Hadar, planted the family orchards there, and laid the cornerstone for the moshav and was one of its founders. Avraham joined the ranks of the British army and was stationed as a driver in the air force. On 11 Shvat, January 28, 1942, he was killed in a battle on the Tobruk front in Libya and laid to rest at the Tobruk cemetery. He left behind parents a brother. A memorial was erected in Givat Shaul, and his parents decided to commemorate him in Ramat Hadar, the place he loved so much and erected a statue there in his memory. A.
