Levensochen, Yankel (Yuziv)


Rivka and David’s youngest son. He was born in Bucharest, Romania on April 5, 1935. He graduated from a government elementary school and studied for two years in a vocational high school in the mechanical training program, was a member of the Zionist youth movement in Romania and was an outstanding athlete. He liked photography and plaster sculpture, built and installed electric instruments, but most of all he was fascinated by the circus and sought to set up a circus and amusement park in Israel. In 1960 he married Danielle and after a while they had a daughter and a son. They moved to Israel in 1978 and settled in Netanya. Yankel was drafted into the IDF in mid-December 1979 and after completing short-term training, he was placed in reserve duty in the framework of the Civil Defense. On 28 Sivan, 18 June 1982, Yankel fell in the line of duty and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya. He left a wife, a daughter, a son, a mother, a brother and a sister.
