After completing his high school studies, Yitzhak joined the Har Etzion Hesder Yeshiva in Alon Shvut in Gush Etzion, where he was a handsome, black-eyed, curly-haired young man who was active and active in every activity. He was a member of the Bnei Akiva youth movement in Bnei Brak and was active in it, was devoted and loyal to the youth movement, was a partner in all the events and activities in the branch and accepted Yitzhak was a sports enthusiast, and when he grew up, he joined the religious sports association Elitzur, where he was involved in sports activities, and during his high school studies he discovered his qualities as a social leader with natural authority. The youth movement began to organize activities, taught lessons and held ideological-spiritual conversations, and from his childhood he was deeply involved in the love of the country, touring and traveling extensively, specializing in topography, and interested in the vegetation of the country. He clung to the enlightened figure of the Rosh Yeshiva, who explained it to him, encouraged him, sometimes gave him books and other books of thought in gratitude for having fulfilled tasks with full responsibility. Yitzhak completed his high school studies and successfully passed the matriculation examinations of the real trend. Yitzhak showed interest and interest in various subjects, studied them and studied them; Especially in Jewish thought and the history of the people and the land. He read poetry and thought, took an interest in painting and even wrote articles on the Land of Israel and on matters of religious thought: prayer, faith and science, Shabbat, righteous and evil, evil and good, reward and punishment, etc. In the hesder yeshiva he studied the basic books of thought His article “The Land of Israel in the Ramban” was published in the booklet “Alon Shvut” of the Har Etzion Yeshiva. Yitzhak was drafted into the IDF in July 1972 and volunteered for the Nahal Brigade. He wanted to study at the Har Etzion hesder yeshiva, was examined by the Rosh Yeshiva and accepted there. He completed basic training with great success and excelled as a sniper. In the course of his military service he took part in shooting competitions in the framework of the Nahal Brigade and other IDF frameworks and achieved impressive achievements. He volunteered for the Yom Kippur War of the military rabbinate, where he spent a few days with soldiers near Kuneitra, in the Golan Heights, before serving as a public emissary, organizing hours of study for soldiers, and taking care of the religious units in the unit. – Atonement, Yitzhak returned to the Nahal unit and took part in securing the Zemach region – the border crossing of Israel, Jordan and Syria. He was later transferred to the Armored Corps, the Armored Corps and the Sinai School. He was appointed commander of a tank and was transferred to the Canal Zone with his unit, where he took part in maintaining the line west of Ismailia. In these circumstances, Yitzhak maintained his image as a religious soldier, in his way of life – prayer, kashrus, Shabbat, study – as well as between man and his fellow man. His friends in the unit admired his way of life and his compliance with the tests, and their appreciation for him greatly increased. Nevertheless, he remained humble, humble and Lev. His commanders tried to convince him to study in an officers’ course, but he preferred to return to his yeshiva in Gush Etzion, knowing that important security positions were also available there. He studied his studies and was asked, by the Rosh Yeshiva, to teach at the seminaryOf the Gesher organization for bringing secular youth closer to Judaism. His faith enabled him to see the various events on the military plane as part of his belief in “Israel will never lie.” Yitzhak said: “Failure and withdrawal are also part of this general process that exists in the people of Israel … Military service is a national-religious value, and from such an approach it is easier to face the dangers and difficulties and pressures required of every soldier and commander.” On the 22nd of Tevet 5722 (22.12.1975), Yitzhak fell in the line of duty in Gush Etzion. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by his parents, two brothers and a sister. In his obituary, the Rosh Yeshiva said: “We and the entire public have lost a man who had all the qualities to be a leader in the future.” In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “Yitzhak stood out among the soldiers, who gave his commanders and subordinates a belief in the existence and justice of our path. His family published a book in his memory, called “Sheikh Yitzhak”. The first part of the book is devoted to the subject of prayer in halakhah, thought and poetry. The second part is devoted to the figure of Yitzhak, and his articles on various subjects, as well as statements by his rabbis, teachers, comrades-in-arms, and comrades in the youth movement.
