Son of Yosef and Esther. He was born on April 26, 1953 in Haifa, where he moved to Ramat Gan where he spent his childhood and youth and attended the “Ora” elementary school and graduated with honors from the Dvir High School in Ramat Gan. During his high school years he was active in the Gadna, participated in all the school trips and took part in social life. Many read books, especially novels and adventure books. Meir enlisted in the IDF in early August 1971 and volunteered to serve in the Armored Corps, on the 18th of Elul, 5731 (September 18, 1971), when he fell in the line of duty, leaving his parents and brother in eternal mourning in the Kiryat Shaul cemetery. : “Meir was a dedicated soldier. Did his duty without question, was admired by his friends and commanders. He never complained, did not complain about pains and weaknesses, because he always wanted to be with the ward. Did not give up running or traveling, and always insisted that they do not help him, and that’s what we valued him for. “
