Koller, Moshe (Oscar)


Son of Orna and Ludwig was born on The 9th of Adar, February 23, 1926, in Vienna, the capital of Austria. At elementary school he was able to protect himself and his Jewish friends from anti-Semitic attacks by students and teachers. He was sent to another school and one youth, who in the previous school filed a police complaint against him, which was life threateing. He was fortunate enough to be included among the fifty children who were then permitted to immigrate to Israel. Moshe took advantage of every hour of self-training and received a matriculation certificate. He was sent to the Carmeli brigade, fought in the conquest of Acre and other operations, and finally, in the defense of Ramot Naftali, where he was sent with some of his comrades to patrol the enemy lines. There he was hit and fell on Tuesday, June 10th, 1948. He was buried in Ramot Naftali. On the 16th of Adar 5706, March 16, 1950 he was transferred to eternal restin the military cemetery in Haifa.
