Keren-Tzur (Karnzer) and Ilan-Yehoshua

Keren-Tzur (Karnzer) and Ilan-Yehoshua

Son of Shimon and Chava. He was born in Kfar Ata on January 31, 1936. He completed his studies at the Kiryat Motzkin High School, and at the age of 16 he joined the “Erez” youth group at Kibbutz Shamir of Hashomer Hatzair. At the end of his training, he became a member of the kibbutz and was hired by the cowshed. He was gentle by nature but at the same time stood out in a tremendous struggle to conquer a fundamental world view while maintaining an independent thought. He had a deep understanding of music and after neglecting it he returned to it in his last days. The spirit of battle never struck him, and despite his young age, he was able to express his position with an old fervor, but he undoubtedly fought with his best powers and by his conscience, for he always fought for good and for justice, just as he fought for human freedom and for peace. In Sinai, on the 27th of Mershvan 5710 (October 31, 1956), he fell in the Mitla Pass. He was buried in the Military Cemetery in Szelech on Friday, October 31, 1957. He was put to rest in the cemetery in his kibbutz, and in the “thirty” Pages “(information of the Department for the Immigration of Children and Youth published by the Jewish Agency in Jerusalem). His memory was also raised in Uri Milstein’s book, “The Paratroop Wars.”
