Kaminsky, Yoram


Yoram, son of Esther and Zvi, was born on January 10, 1940 in Rishon Letzion. He studied at the Be’eri elementary school in Rishon Letzion and later studied at the ORT vocational high school in Rehovot, in the framework of frameworks. He graduated from high school in Rishon Letzion, attended evening studies, and passed the matriculation exams. From his youth he had serious consideration and mature, thorough and clear thinking. He excelled in the study of theoretical subjects and therefore left the vocational school and studied evening classes, accounting courses, clerkships and English. Yoram was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in mid-February 1958 and assigned to the Military Police, where he was assigned to the Supply Corps and served in the IDF’s training base, but he found no satisfaction in serving in the rear unit. In the middle of August 1960, Yoram was discharged from regular service and assigned to a reserve unit of the Signal Corps, where he was trained to serve as a liaison officer and was assigned to a reserve battalion. “And worked at the bank’s branch in Rishon Letzion He devoted many hours to his work and studied and specialized in all areas of the Bank’s activity, thanks to his excellence in the work and was appointed deputy director of the branch, and he was friendly with his co-workers and they were Simcha to be with him and work together with him. In 1970 his eldest son Elad was born, and Yoram was an honest man, pursuing truth and justice and advocating equality and integrity, and he loved life and knew how to enjoy his leisure time, which he devoted to reading books, watching movies and engaging in sports . He began to establish his life in two parallel tracks: one – his work at the bank, in which he invested all his energy and ego, and the other – the family life in the pleasant home he established with his wife. In the Yom Kippur War Yoram and Tzorf joined his battalion in the Armored Corps unit, which participated in the battles of containment and infiltration against the Egyptians in the Sinai. Throughout the fighting, he was involved in the operation of radio radios, which served his commanders in conducting the campaign. On October 20, 1973, Yoram was severely wounded in an enemy attack on our forces in the canal area and was evacuated to a hospital on the home front. On the 26th of Tishrei 5740 (22.10.1973) he died of his wounds and was brought to eternal rest in the Rishon Letzion cemetery. He left behind a pregnant wife and a son (his second son, Eran-Yoram, born after his fall), parents and brother. After his fall, he was promoted to corporal. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “Yoram served in a divisional communications unit, was one of the veterans of the unit, my friend, and was a model for his comrades.”
