Jespan, Joseph
Son of Shoshana and Avraham. He was born on December 30, 1924 in Tel Aviv and studied there at the “Talmud Torah” school, where his parents, who lived on the Jaffa-Tel Aviv border, were forced to move to Rishon LeZion, On the land of the inheritance of Judah, and then moved to a permanent settlement in “Ezra and Tzron”. Yosef continued to study at the Talmud Torah in Rishon Letzion, and when he completed his studies he went to work in a glass box to help support the family. He joined the Hanoar Haoved movement and was one of its active and enthusiastic members. At the age of sixteen, he accepted the call to volunteer for the British army. He claimed that his age was two years higher than that, and that he was eligible for enlistment, and that he was recruited to the Hebrew Transport Unit (462), and was killed on the 27th of Nissan 5703 (5703) in a naval disaster when British ships, Who made their way from the port of Alexandria to Malta, were attacked by German bombers, and 140 soldiers from the Hebrew transport unit drowned somewhere between the coasts of Egypt and Malta, and placed a sister, a sister and three brothers in the cemetery on Mount Herzl.
