Son of Bella (Dov) and Edith. He was born on April 29, 1948 in Romania. He spent his childhood in Romania, where he completed his studies in sixth grade. He immigrated to Israel with his family in 1961. He completed his studies at the elementary school in Kfar Hasidim and later completed his studies at the Yeshivat Torah V’Malachah vocational high school in the village of Citrin and acquired a profession as an apprentice. Despite the difficulties of acclimatization, Shmuel was able to quickly assimilate with his contemporaries, thanks to his good qualities and his comfortable character, was always optimistic, Simcha and ready to help others, and his friends testified that he “always knew to speak the word of encouragement at the right time.” His love for Israel, which came to be discovered mainly in the framework of the Gadna. He had many hobbies – listening to music, traveling and engaging in sports. But most of all he loved reading and read many of the world’s literature, for he knew four languages. Shmuel was drafted into the IDF in early August 1967 and assigned to the Armored Corps after completing his basic training course and successfully completing the course, was assigned to one of the battalions and began his career as a tank gunner and fulfilled his duties to the satisfaction of his commanders. And later formed a group that continued its friendship even after the hours of operation in the unit. After completing successfully, he was awarded the rank of sergeant – at the end of July 1969. Shmuel returned to his battalion as a tank commander and received the assessments of his commanders and subordinates. After several months he was released from regular service and assigned to a reserve unit of the Armored Corps. At times he was called up for reserve service and he fulfilled his duties faithfully and with devotion. After a long time Shmuel studied at the IMI as an electronics technician and at night he studied electronics engineering, and at the time he married his girlfriend Zippora, and together they established a home that had a relationship of friendship and love. Who spent most of his time and energy in his family, did not wait for the call and immediately reported to his unit, during which he was wounded and later returned to service, where he was awarded the “Yom Kippur War.” In February 1975 he was called for reserve duty On Sunday, February 11, 1975, Shmuel fell in his duties in the area of ​​Ras Sudar. He was laid to rest at the cemetery in Rishon Letzion. He left behind a wife, daughter, parents and sister. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “From his comrades and commanders, I heard a great deal about his devotion, his bad relations with his friends and his willingness to help others.” Shmuel was one of the founders of the unit immediately after his release, and since then he has contributed much to his company.
