Isaac, David


Ben Mazala and Salaman. Born in 1945 in Iraq, David was born in Iraq in 1945. In 1951, when he was about six years old, he immigrated with his family to Israel. David was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in mid-November 1963 and was assigned to the Armored Corps, and after successfully completing basic training, he continued his training in Armored Corps. At the end of the course, he was assigned to one of the corps’ field units. Here he turned out to be an exemplary crewman and an excellent fighter. He had never evaded unpleasant debts, and after a long and arduous workout he was the last to go to bed. He admired the power of the steel vessels, deposited by his friends and hands, and liked to take care of them. At the end of his regular service, he married his girlfriend Leah, and with her he set up a home. Eventually the couple had a daughter and son and their happiness was great. During the Yom Kippur War, David participated in the difficult battles that our forces conducted along the Gidi Road. On October 18, 1973, after locating and destroying Sager missile operators at the Hatam junction, he was hit by shrapnel and died of his wounds, and was brought to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, leaving behind a wife, son and daughter .
