Inbal (Marcus), Ephraim


Son of Israel and Shoshana. He was born on July 29, 1929 in Jerusalem. He studied at the school for the children of the workers there and afterwards at the Yagur Regional School. When he grew up, he had a good quality of character, such as courage and firmness, and yet he showed extraordinary tenderness. He was arrested at the time of the “Black Sabbath” on 29.6.1946 with other members of the agriculture and was imprisoned in Rafah and participated in the War of Independence as a member of the Palmach and was wounded in the conquest of Safed. In the IDF he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel, loyal and quiet, a devoted soldier and an educator, and was a commander of a company in an officers’ course and was considered one of the most senior commanders in the paratroopers. In the last days of his life, he was the commander of the paratroopers’ school, who fell during his duty on 6 June 1963 and at a full military ceremony, with the participation of the Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Tzur , Was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, where he left a wife and a baby, and his memory was mentioned in Uri Milstein’s book, “The Paratroop Wars.”
