The youngest son of Miriam and Aaron. He was born on the 15th of Sivan 5761 (15.6.1981) in Jerusalem. The fifth of the five children in the family; A brother to Tami, Liat, Hadas and Amir. A lovely boy, red-haired and red-haired, too, with his deep eyes telling everything. Elad grew up and was educated in Jerusalem, in a warm and loving home, a home where he loved love for man and for the country. He spent his early years in the Ramat Eshkol neighborhood and went to first grade at the Yad HaMoreh elementary school. When he was eight, the family moved to the Arnona neighborhood, and Elad continued his studies at the Zalman Aran elementary school. He completed his high school studies at the Hebrew Gymnasium in Rehavia, and completed his studies successfully. Elad was a handsome and talented child, full of joy and humor, a good spirit and a lot of jokes and jokes. However, he could also be serious when necessary. From an early age, he displayed deep political awareness, read a lot, listened to the news and became involved in the events. Among his many friends, Elad was a leading and leading figure, and his social involvement – both in and outside the school community – is evident. In the “Modiin” tribe of the Scouts movement, Elad was one of the active members, and as an adolescent he became a guide. He initiated the movement’s warehouse organization, and even undertook to regularly assist a limited member in his efforts. The family’s inclination toward art and creativity was expressed by Elad in a variety of areas: he loved drawing, he appreciated singing, and he himself had a great talent for writing. Thus, quite a few texts for social events of the school and the “Scouts” were written by him, and he even took part in plays, events and ceremonies. Elad also took a lot of photographs, and the Yaffa photographs he left behind reflect his sensitivity and unique expression. Elad also liked to listen to music – especially the songs of “Where the Child” and the singer Eran Tzur – to watch movies, and of course – to talk more about politics. Five years between Elad and his brother Amir, the two were very close, like twins, and shared their secrets. Even when he was a young boy, Elad began to accompany Amir to the Hapoel Jerusalem games, joined the “hard core” of the fans, and from then on Elad became an integral part of the Hapoel Jerusalem team, The group played all the games at the Malcha Sports Hall, and also played foreign games for a long time.Alad was surrounded by friends and friends, and his home was a vibrant center – a place where friends and acquaintances come and go all day and night. Rich and drink, the sleeping bags scattered around the house, the contact sheets hanging on the refrigerator, the ringing of the telephone The brother of Amir, then a soldier in the Paratroopers Brigade, was killed in a terrorist attack that took place at the hitchhiking station at the Beit Lid junction – A double suicide attack, one of the worst known to Israel, in which twenty-two people were murdered, Elad was not yet fourteen years old when he changed his life and the life of the entire family, he became a serious and suspicious boy, but he learned to live in the shadow of bereavement. At the school and at Tzofim, traveled abroad, and spent a lot of time with his family, with his beloved sisters, with his nephew From in-laws. After Amir’s downfall, Elad’s relationship with the Hapoel Jerusalem team deepened, and with the fans in particular. They adopted Elad, and assigned him the place where his brother Amir stood encouragingly behind the baskets. Elad continued to cheer when he drummed on a drum, and swept after meAnd the fans. He composed songs of encouragement for actors, and served as an example for young fans to preserve the tradition of encouraging the group – not only during victories but also in losses. On December 5, 1999, Elad enlisted in the IDF. After basic training at the Nitzanim base, he began serving on Army Radio. He has worked in a variety of positions at the station, including editing and production of programs, and was one of the initiators of the unique project “Soon We Shall Become a Song” – an annual project produced for the Memorial Day where artists perform songs of fallen soldiers. Today, the project is dedicated to his memory. During his military service, Elad continued to attend all the home games and Hapoel Jerusalem’s outdoor games. Like any good fan, after losses he would wait for the actors who came out of the dressing rooms and give them warm words to lift their spirits. Good and courageous relations were associated with many players, especially close to Adi Gordon and Lapi Turgeman. On September 28, 2000, Elad suffered another blow – a fatal blow from which he did not recover. Sergeant David Biri, a Givati soldier, his good friend from childhood who had a second brother, was killed in the Karni Netzarim attack and was the first victim of the Al-Aqsa Intifada. Elad remained stunned and bleeding and did not know his soul. Three weeks later, on the 18th of Tishrei 5761 (October 18, 2000), Elad ended his life. In a letter left by a reporter who could bear no more loss, and was overcome by grief and pain. Elad was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, where his beloved brother Amir was buried five years earlier. At the age of nineteen, Elad was killed, leaving parents and three sisters. In a letter of consolation to the bereaved family, the commander of IDF Radio, Yitzhak Tunik, wrote: “We met Elad as a soldier, as a partner in the road and as a friend. We always saw him smiling, smiling, willingly and willingly accepting every task and rushing to fulfill every request. Every day we saw his great delicacy, introvertedly, but also with the determination that characterized him. In March, in initiatives for more and more positions, far beyond what was included in his position as an assistant to the organization’s officer. Many plans for the future were for Elad: to try his talent for editing musical programs, and to expand his involvement in the various productions. Elad drew encouragement from the successful experience we all experienced from his integration into the production of the annual song parade and from the positive feedback he received about his research into “Mom’s Voice.” The soldiers who were close to Elad describe a warm young man who is not arrogant, funny and creative, and we, the whole Army Radio family – soldiers, soldiers, soldiers, “During the” shiva “days for Elad, supporters of Hapoel Jerusalem initiated the idea of naming the two stands behind the baskets at the Malcha Sports Center -” Elad Stands “and” Amir Amir ” “In one consultation with the group’s management and with the municipality, the move was carried out, says Mashka, one of the sympathizers:” The little children are sitting today at the Amir Gallery, “The double tragedy that has befallen the Hershenson family has turned it and the Hapoel Jerusalem team into a single nucleus, and all the members of the family, from Gadol to Katan, are involved and active in the group in management and support, and the young fans continue on their way Amir and Elad are loyal supporters: “The players and the coaches do change,” says Father Roni. “But the audience is the memory guard for both of them. It’s like a reason to get up in the morning, especially the young fans; There is a Yaffa connection of all the people of Israel from all corners of the world without differences. “Amir and Elad will be eighteen and nineteen years old, but they will be with us for the rest of their lives,” said Danny Klein, chairman of Hapoel Jerusalem. They will remember them forever. Part of the commemoration is to continue talking about their crazy sympathy for the team, which means encouraging even in the minus 20. They do not just say that Hapoel’s audience is different from the other teams. Much of this is something that Amir and Elad began. “Miri writes:” We are a chain with many links, but we lack two links, so the chain will always remain incomplete. I think and do not believe that I am writing about my little son, that he and his brother Amir will not marry and have no family. The worst thing about life is losing children. Sadly, I grew up orphaned, but losing a child is losing your future. I have three daughters and they let me raise my head above the water and continue with the wave – once the wave is big and sometimes small. But there is no choice, we have to move over it and continue to a different world than before – there is before and there is another. The entire family – the girls, the grooms and the grandchildren – continue on Amir and Elad’s path. Had Elad seen what I wrote, he might have laughed or said, ‘What nonsense are you writing about me?’ “(This page is part of the Yizkor memorial project, which was held by the Ministry of Defense)
