Hemi, Raphael


Son of Simon and Saul. He was born on April 12, 1952 in Casablanca, Morocco, and attended the “Kol Israel Haverim” elementary school in his city. In 1961 he immigrated to Israel with his family and settled in Hadera. He had a sensitive soul and a masterly hand. He used to paint and left behind many pictures – mostly landscapes. Prior to his enlistment he worked for a certain period at Kibbutz Negba. He was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of May 1972 and assigned to the infantry unit on the 16th of Kislev 5733 (16.11.1972), during his service. He was laid to rest in the Hadera cemetery. His name is engraved on a memorial plaque at the Yad Labanim Synagogue in Hadera.
