Hemel, Isaac
Son of Frida and Gershon. He was born on April 12, 1914 in Berlin, Germany. After graduating from high school, he joined the “Brit HaOlim” movement, which was called in Germany as the Habonim and went to agricultural training for two and a half years in a farmer’s farm in the Netherlands. In 1935, he immigrated to Eretz Israel and joined the “Chugim” group, the former name of Beit Hashita, where he worked as a coach in various branches of the agriculture. He was also among the instructors in guarding and defense. About a year later, he went with a group of friends to work abroad with the salt company and the farmers’ farms in Shvilit. When a group was formed to set up Kibbutz Ein Hayam, he contacted her and decided to leave Beit Hashita and move to the new kibbutz, where he organized a branch of Hanoar Haoved, and when the kibbutz took over the guard at Atlit vineyards, Yitzhak joined the guards. On 8 Tamuz, July 14, 1940, while he was guarding the vineyards of Atlit, he was shot by an Arab and killed at the site, and was brought to eternal rest in the Atlit cemetery, leaving behind his parents and sister.
