Son of Refael and Nehama. He was born on January 2, 1954 in Rishon Letzion. He studied at the Sinai religious public school in the city and finished with excellent grades. He was loved by his teachers and friends. According to his personal choice, Yitzhak continued his studies at the “Noam” school in Pardes Hannah. After minor crises in the first year, he adapted to the spirit of education in the area and made a great effort both in religious studies and in general studies. He took part in all Bnei Akiva activities and especially loved the trips around the country. During his vacations he used to tour the country’s paths from the Upper Galilee to the far Negev. In the 10th grade, he worked in the field of knowledge of the country, which earned him a high grade in his matriculation certificate. He was also interested in all the political developments and collected material on Arab-Israeli relations, and was always up to date on everything that had happened in the political arena. However, we do not refrain from practicing sports, especially in volleyball, running and swimming. At the Midrasha, Itzik earned him many admirers among the teachers and students, thanks to his many virtues. He was humble and modest. He tried to hide his talents. He took upon himself every difficult task without expecting to merit a respect or a status of honor. He had a quick perception and a strong memory. His acumen and scholarship might have been in his future studies at the university he was about to enroll in after his service. But he did not, and his parents did not. After completing his matriculation exams at Midrasha, he joined the IDF in July 1972. He joined the Nahal Harel nucleus at Kibbutz Ma’aleh-Gilboa, but has not yet managed to open his training program on the kibbutz and has already been sent to a basic training course, He continued with a training course for Nahal commanders. After completing the course he was promoted to Corporal, who was sent back to the base to instruct the new recruits, and was discovered as a dedicated and successful instructor who took the example of the example and the educator for mutual help. , His superiors wrote in his opinion: “Yitzhak is an excellent commander, he controls the material, he functions as an officer.” When the Yom Kippur War broke out, Yitzhak was immediately dispatched to reinforce the fighting force in the Golan Heights, and was then assigned to a platoon guarding a section of the eastern front in the Jordan Valley. After a while he was sent across the Canal, close to the city of Suez, opposite the Second Egyptian Army. Where he continued to serve for many months until the forces were separated. The war and its horrors left traces in his sensitive soul.
