Hassan, Hassan Farhan


Son of Menucha and Firhan. Hassan was born on 1 July 1930 in the village of Sajur. He was a member of a family of five. When he was ten, his father died, and since then all the family members helped support the family. He completed his studies at a school in the village of Rama. In 1948 Hassan enlisted as a volunteer in the ranks of the Haganah and later moved to regular army service. In 1953, he volunteered for the Border Police and served as a squad commander in the 6th, 5th and 5th battalions, and Hassan was a serious figure and had a high work ethic, and was able to establish contacts with civilian elements in favor of the unit’s policemen. Hassan married Atera and began to realize his desire to build a warm home, and he had four children, and his little son died at the age of 2. Hassan always showed great affection for his wife and children. During his spare time, he engaged in sports and physical fitness exercises, and conducted mountain-walking tours and scenic spots. Thanks to his pleasant nature, his friends liked to join him in his interesting tours. Yes, he was an expert in hunting. On December 28, 1957, Sergeant Shani Hassan was on an operational patrol on a dirt road leading to the village of Glickson. During the tour, a bullet was fired at him. He was seriously injured and died on the way to the hospital. He was twenty-seven when he fell. He was buried in the cemetery in Sajur. He left a wife and three children.
