Harel, Yuval


Son of-Miriam and Yechezkel was born on October 7, 1962 in Holon, where Yuval was a gifted student and studied in Holon at the Sprinzak Elementary School and the Miterani High School. He joined his parents, who went on a mission to the United States, and when he returned to Israel he completed his high school studies in a humanistic track, and the love of music filled Yuval’s world during his youth. However, when he reached the time of his induction, he underwent medical examinations and was given a high level of health. Yuval preferred to serve in a combat unit. In August 1981, Yuval enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces and served in the Armored Corps. When the Peace for Galilee War broke out, he was with the armored force of the Armored Corps, which broke into the terrorist strongholds. He advanced with his unit towards Ein al-Hilweh, near Sidon. As he progressed, the tank he was traveling in was damaged. The crew did their best, and the tank was repaired. Meanwhile, the night fell, and the commander of the tank offered to sleep in the area, and only with the light of day to continue the advance toward the unit. But Yuval, who wanted to be with his fighting unit, suggested moving at night, in order to get ahead and connect with the force. His commander accepted his offer and they moved until they reached the unit. Nt. Of the enemy directly hit his tank in the midst of a battle, when they broke into the alleys of Ein al-Hilweh. Yuval was killed immediately. His friends, the crew, managed to extricate themselves from the burning tank, wounded. He was 19 years old when he fell. He was brought to the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem and left behind his parents and two sisters: “Yuval was killed in a fierce battle in the alleys of Ein el Hilweh after a long battle, With hundreds of terrorists armed with anti-tank weapons.
