Hanun, Gideon

Gideon, son of Salha and Zakai Hanun, was born in Tiberias in 1959. Gideon enlisted in the IDF in early February 1977 and was assigned to the Israel Air Force. Gideon took part in acts of silence. He rescued many civilians and soldiers. Gideon had a special love for airplanes and night flights. On the 28th of Nissan (22.4.1990), he fell in the course of his duty in an air accident and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Tiberias. Survived by his parents, two brothers and four sisters – Shneur, Eliezer, Simcha, Orna, Ruti and Iris. After his death, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major.
