A lively, intelligent and sensitive boy, Amiram was a joy of life, and he greeted every person with a charming, loving smile and with shining eyes. During the War of Independence, Amiram and his friends were transferred to Tel Yosef as refugees, and when Grandmother Ruth came to visit her grandson on Saturdays and holidays, little Amiram refused to let go of her and wanted her to take him with her. Already in the kindergarten, he had an amazing sensitivity to animals. he would wander through the farm, he listened to the clang of birds hiding in the flanks, treated himself with a solitary dog and took a load He played chess, collected matchbooks from all over the world, went on trips, took an active part in the celebrations and read books, and as a student in the following classes, he went out with His friends helped a young settlement and volunteered to work in the field and in the building, Amiram was a friendly boy fond of adults and young people. He was a good and devoted friend and did not spare any object to give to a friend. When an incident occurred in the classroom or with the children, he took full responsibility for himself; He did not betray his friends. On the eve of his enlistment in the IDF, Elem was a tall, stout man with a black forelock and eyes full of intelligence and a good heart, Amiram was drafted into the IDF in early November 1964 and assigned to the Armored Corps. After basic training, he was trained in a tank-related course and a course in armored professions, and was known among his unit as an excellent gunner and a responsible soldier. During the Six-Day War he participated in the armored battles in Sinai, in the division of Major General Avraham Yaffe , And in the orange of the battles he volunteered to serve in the career army and served as an instructor in the artillery section of the Armored Corps School, where one of his commanders said: “We had to build everything from Genesis. Amiram was immediately evident in his calm and relaxed temperament, and especially in his deep technical knowledge. “In September 1968, Amiram completed his service in the Israel Defense Forces. “I tried to sign him into a permanent position,” says his commander, “I was interested in his plans for the future and was happy to hear that he chose the field of body culture and physical education. Amiram studied for three years at the Wingate Institute and was certified as a physical education teacher. At the same time, he chose to build his future in the big city and began his career as a physical education teacher at the Lady Davis school in Tel Aviv. His students talk about him with affection and admiration. He was an exemplary teacher and knew how to combine rigidity and tenderness, seriousness and laughter. He stimulated his apprentices, spurred them to engage in sports even in their spare time, and helped them solve their personal problems. His young apprentices knew that Amiram would always find a sympathetic ear. In 1972 he married his girlfriend Aviva, a Raanana resident. Grandmother Ruth talks about Aviva and Amiram’s frequent visits to her home. “Since leaving for his own independent way, Amiram has been in a state of uncertainty about the possibility of studying and sustaining himself, and when he married Aviva, he was relieved that he had been satisfied with his life. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, pHe went to his unit in the Armored Corps and was sent to the northern front. He fought as a cannon in a tank and was wounded in the beginning of the fighting by shrapnel, while rescuing a wounded member under enemy fire. “Despite the strong fire, Amiram approached me without any problems, because he was very worried about Gideon, I would always remember that moment of intense fire, he passed the distance between his tank and my tank, He said, “Listen, Yitzhaki, Gideon is wounded, and I have to do something,” and returned to Gideon, and then, as they passed Gideon to the terrace, I could see a flare of light fire between their legs. When a gunner was missing in one of the tanks, he immediately volunteered to take his place. On October 8, 1973, First Sergeant Amiram set out in a group of ten tanks to destroy Syrian tanks south of the Hoshniyeh route. A fire hit his tank crew, but before Amiram was hit by the tank, Amiram managed to hit six or seven Syrian tanks, and the deputy commander of the division, who organized the operation, called out: “Exception! Amiram was killed and brought to eternal rest in the cemetery at Kibbutz Hulata. He left behind a wife, a father, a mother, and a brother.
