Gutman, Moshe-Yehuda

Moshe (Andres), son of Elisabeth (Malka) and Zvi (Sandor), was born on September 8, 1954, in Budapest, Hungary, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1964. He completed his elementary studies in Budapest. At the beginning of November 1972, after completing a series of courses at the Armored Corps School, he was placed in his unit as a tank gunner. On leave from the army he helped his father work in the garage. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, Moshe was sent with an armored force to the southern sector of the Suez Canal. On October 6, 1973, his tank was hit and Moshe managed to escape, but was hit and killed in an explosion nearby, and was brought to eternal rest in the Ashkelon cemetery, leaving behind his parents and sister.
