Greenfeld, Yehuda Baruch


Yehuda Baruch, son of Bilha Chaya and Avraham Shmuel Greenfeld, was born on the 21st of Iyar 5739 in Haifa. After a year and a half, the family moved to Mevo Horon, on the outskirts of Jerusalem and later to the Givat Mordechai neighborhood of the capital. Yehuda attended Yeshivat Ateret Cohanim in Jerusalem for two years and joined the paratroopers in the army. He studied at the “Ayelet Hashachar” hesder yeshiva in Eilat, where he studied for about three years. Yehuda married Gabriella, and the couple set up their home in Ma’ale Michmas in the Jerusalem area. On 8 Av 5766, during the Second Lebanon War, he was called for reserve duty, and Yehuda fell during the Second Lebanon War in a battle on the 12th of Av, 5766, at the age of twenty-seven. Yehuda was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl. Survived by his wife, daughter and son, parents, three brothers and two sisters. After his death he was promoted to First Sergeant.
