Greenboim, Yakir


Son of Eliyahu and Tzipora. He was born on 4 December 1937 in Haifa and completed his studies at the Reali School in Haifa, was a member of the Scouts movement, saw a tendency to art and took part in an art course in his school. And not only because of his great love for nature, but also because of his desire to know the kibbutz and integrate into his life, so he immersed himself in the study of agriculture not only from the physical work in the field but also from his theoretical part, He knew how to overcome all this effort and difficulty and was able to find expression in every field work and in the many walks he took part in. He was quiet, closed and withdrawn and modest, yet knew his people He was not satisfied with the routine and the accepted, and he often tended to follow the paved road and to facilitate the search for new paths – even difficult and special for himself – and his independence was also prominent: he fell during the performance of his duties on July 29, 1957 and was brought To rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. His friends in Tel Katzir published a booklet in his memory entitled Yakir. His parents set up an art room in his name in Beit-Biram on Mount Carmel.
