Granov, Shlomo
Son of Rivka and Dov, was born on January 4, 1926, in Moshav Tel Adashim and studied in an elementary school. He was a weak child, but with his hard work he grew up and became a trusted worker. When he was 18, he enlisted in the Palmach, took a course for practical sports instructors and was sent to Kadesh Naftali for training in the Upper Galilee, where he worked not only in instruction but also in organizing the Aliya from Syria, through the northern border. During the Simhat Torah 5708, he was sent on a ship from Haifa to Cyprus for the military training of the Ma’apilim. When he returned to Israel, he joined the ranks of the defenders and was accepted to a Palmach regiment, while Ashdod was badly wounded when he felt like saving his friend’s life. Where he took part in Operation Horev and fell in battle for Auja al-Hafir (Nitzana) on December 27, 1948. He was first buried in Halutza and later transferred to the eternal rest of the cemetery in Tel Adashim.
