Gopstein, Aharon


Son of-Miriam and Ben-Zion was born in Jerusalem on March 19, 1931. In his childhood, he attended a kindergarten, a cheder, and a Talmud Torah of the Mizrachi movement, a quiet boy who loved to be isolated, diligent in his studies and knew how to paint and sculpt. His ambition was to study at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, but he did not get there because of the difficult situation at home, and he began to work in the “Sinai” printing press, he was very successful at work and in the evenings he studied high school evening classes. “Bnei Akiva.” At the age of 15, he wrote an essay on the history of a family that was saved from the clutches of the Nazis and his story was printed with his own hands with a primitive device he installed for himself. “At the age of 17 he enlisted in the army and was engaged in training and fortifications, during which time he wrote a diary about the battles in the city and parted from the house and went into a bloodless battle, He had no idea that he would not see the family again and asked them to keep his paintings: “Destiny persecutes man and does not hide from him.” Aharon fell on May 29, 1948 and was buried in the sheikh Searched ‘Tags’ for. On the 28th of Elul 5710 (10.9.1950) he was put to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem
