Goldstein, Arieh


Son of Yosef and Batya. He was born on January 29, 1928, in Jassy, ​​Romania, where he completed his studies in elementary and high school and also attended a vocational school, and joined Hashomer Hatzair when he was 12 years old and took part in its activities in the underground. In 1944 he became one of the active members of the “Kane” in Biasi, the largest of the Romanian “kani” and was one of the founders of Kibbutz Zikim after immigrating to Israel in 1946. He completed his training at Kibbutz Shamir. He tended to painting and directing. He was a nuclear instructor at Kibbutz Zikim, to which he belonged. Since his arrival in Israel, he has shown an interest in security and has volunteered for security positions. All his activities did not overshadow the other areas in which he was involved, such as the cultural life of the kibbutz, and a short time before they fell, he played an agricultural role in industry concentration. He joined the IDF in December 1949. Even after his release from the IDF, he did not neglect his activity in defense of the agriculture, in which he worked diligently and devotedly until his dying day. He fell in the line of duty on the 11th of Tammuz 5763 (24.6.1953) and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in his kibbutz. He left a wife and a child. Kibbutz Zikim took out a booklet in his name and in his memory.
