He loved to go out to the field and try his hand at hunting, and he loved the sea, and he was always optimistic and cheerful – yet he never revealed his feelings and often closed himself to himself, absorbed in his thoughts. In the midst of difficult and tense days, he was quiet and confident, and his friends liked him mainly because of his willingness to help, to advise and to encourage him, and his willingness to help and advise was revealed mainly among his family. His dedication and loyalty to his brother, and his deep love for his mother made him one of the pillars of the family. A special relationship was created between him and his mother – a brave and precious bond, stemming from appreciation, loyalty and help. Yossi appreciated his father and respected his opinion and his words. He used to talk to him for hours, listening to him and joking with him. The relationship between them was more like sibling relationship than father-son relationship. He was a source of happiness for his father, who died about a month after his fall. In their homes he loved to play with their little children, and played with them as if they were their own age. After he was released from regular service, he was called for periods of active reserve duty. He applied for admission to the Technion at the Technion in the field of architecture, but he did not get the permit to receive it, since it came when he was no longer alive. During the Yom Kippur War, Yossi took part in the battle against the Egyptians on the Sinai front.
