Gabriel, Nachum
Nachum, son of Shedra and Avraham Gabriel, was born in 1926 in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq and immigrated to Israel by land in 1938. He studied at a Jerusalem school and later worked in shoemaking and was a member of the Hanoar Haoved movement. Nachum joined the hachshara in Ein Harod and participated in training and travels. He completed a course for the medics and served in this role devotedly. During the War of Independence, Nachum fell on the Latrun front on the 11th of Tammuz 5708 (18.7.1948). On 28.2.1950, he was brought to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
