Frishman, Dan (“Danny”, “Frish”)

Frishman, Dan (“Danny”, “Frish”)

Son of Yeshayahu and Devorah. He was born on May 22, 1943 in Tel Aviv. After graduating from the AD Gordon High School, he attended the Fifth Municipal High School, from the fifth grade until the end of high school, he belonged to the United Movement. It was worth noting that his high school thesis was in physics and its subject – nuclear reactors – and many things of appreciation were expressed about this work, and in July 1961 he began his service in the IDF as part of a Nahal unit in the “Zurim” nucleus. He completed his basic training in agricultural training at Kibbutz Kinneret, then served for half a year in a paratroop brigade and then moved with his friends to Ein Gedi for a non-kosher service Dated. He was one of the most skilled and responsible workers in the palm branch since he received his training at the Kinneret. During all his periods as a core member (in basic training, in the Kinneret group, in the paratroopers and in Ein Gedi), he served in central positions and fulfilled many responsibilities. In Ein Gedi he studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he graduated with honors, but was awarded the B.SC degree. He also studied at the University’s School of Education in 1967 and successfully passed his exams. One year, he was a part-time teacher of mathematics at the Jerusalem school in Jerusalem, a fast-paced, imaginative, thought-provoking man who was a pen and a lover of books and a vision of it – his estate contains poems, stories and notes from his childhood. He was always very interested in everything, and with an open eye he saw every matter and his clear and healthy logic analyzed him, he was kind, his face was friendly, his manner was pleasant and modest, he respected others, and the Institute was to give help to everyone. He knew the country well from his many walks and as a result of his participation in marches. The army would occasionally go to reserve duty, and in this framework we will also find the Six-Day War, where every role and mission would be received with love and will, because it was devoted to the IDF and therefore loved by all the soldiers of the company. On the second day of the fighting, on the 27th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), he fell in a battle that took place in Jerusalem during the cleansing of houses from the enemy forces near the Damascus Gate opposite the wall. He put down a wife. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. In memory of Dan, various factories were established: His name is displayed in the physics room of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The fifth high school in Tel Aviv was planted, in cooperation with the municipality and the family, “Garden of Fighters” bearing his name. A library containing books on Zionism, the Labor Movement, immigration and settlement, and in every book – an appropriate LIBRIS label – was dedicated to the library hall. In the Ein Gedi group, to which Dan was associated for many days as a member of the Tzurim group, a memorial plaque was set up in his name. In the Modi’in area, a grove of 1,000 trees was planted by friends and family members in his memory. Three children, children of friends of Dan and the family, were named after him. Prof. Azriel Levy of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem devoted a chapter from his research paper entitled “Introduction to Modern Analysis” to six students of the Institute of Mathematics who fell on the defense of the homeland. His parents published a book in his memory called “Danny”, which contains material from his estate. In Nitzanim, the newsletter of the Municipal High School, his memory was raised. His name was mentioned in the book “Jerusalem of Paratroopers” published by the Paratroopers Command. Also in the book “Lions High” of the headquarters of the CzechNekhanim was dedicated to his history and description of his last offering. Also in Nizkor, published by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and its student union, Yehuda the Civil, were his history and description of the last battle. In the collection of the estates of the sons who fell in the Israeli army – “Goily Ash”, Volume 4 – was brought from his estate.
