Friedman, Yehuda

Friedman, Yehuda

Son of Shimon and Sarah. He was born on 19 th of March 1975 in Dafna, where he grew up and was educated in the elementary school and even in the high school in the agriculture until he completed his studies. He was diligent and interested in the real professions-and he was proud of it. He was a member of the “HaNoar HaOved” movement and also devoted his free time to the “Mahanot Ha’olim” and was trained there. Loved music; He was also fond of sports. He excelled in his travels and was always eager to find new trails and unknown sights. He wanted to continue his life on the kibbutz and did not doubt for a moment that this was the right and right way. He loved the work and never shied away from its difficulties, because he was stubborn from his childhood – and his stubbornness was a blessing. He was drafted into the IDF in August 1960. After the basic training period, he was transferred to the Sayeret unit, willing to go to a squad commander’s course, but not to an officers’ course. He went to lieutenant colonel and four months served as company commander-and did not disappoint. He had many plans within the framework of the army itself and began to plan his life and future after his release from service. On 29 August 1962, he fell in a battle near Kfar Sold, not far from Meshko, and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Dafna, where he first saw the light of the world. After his death he was promoted to lieutenant. In the “Sheva” and “Thirty” the kibbutz published a leaflet in his memory (“Ali Dafna”) and a booklet commemorating his name appeared in his memory.
