Forshtendig, Moshe-Shabtai (Muki)


Moshe-Shabtai (Muki), son of Esther and Michael, was born on December 14, 1952 in Tel Aviv. Muki was drafted into the IDF in mid-November 1970 and volunteered for the Nahal Brigade. After basic training, he joined Nahalar Armored Corps, and took part in a course for tanker and course personnel for the “Centurion” tank. In this course he excelled and was awarded a high grade (95). On October 24, 1973, in the afternoon, Muki fell in a battle near Jebel Geneva; he was hit by a missile and he was killed at the site. He was promoted to the rank of corporal, and his parents published a pamphlet in his memory, including his memoirs, letters, poems, and photographs.
