When he was in fifth grade, Yossi won first place in the chess competition at his school. In the club, which was Yossi’s center of business, Yossi dealt with woodwork as an apprentice, guide and facilitator; And when he began to build models, in practice and as a guide – this became a center of leisure time. Both his mentors and apprentices admired him and were blessed with his presence in the club. Yossi was drafted into the IDF in mid-July 1975 and was assigned to serve in the General Staff for the year he continued his studies at the Samet School, Yossi returned to military service after completing ten months of completing his studies and volunteered for the Paratroopers Corps, despite his technical training, and after completing basic training, Yossi completed a parachute training course and was trained in the paratroopers. , Whose development in his youth, his modest and stable character, and his special qualities to love and appreciate On May 23, 1977, Yossi was killed in a helicopter crash in the Jordan Valley, where 54 soldiers were killed and brought to rest in the Haifa cemetery, leaving behind his parents, brother and sister. His friends at the technical club in Kiryat Yam set aside the room in which he worked in the name of Yossi and set up a memorial plaque.
