Etsata, Shalom


Son of Zahara and Shlomo. Born in 1917 in the city of Damar in Yemen, he immigrated to Eretz Israel with his family, who settled in Tel Aviv, and studied at the Talmud Torah elementary school, where he also enjoyed sports and played football. In 1940 he joined the British Army and served in the Royal Air Force, and on 20 Tishrei, October 11, 1941 he fell in combat in the Western Desert. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Alexandria, Egypt. He left parents, two sisters and three brothers. He was 23 years old when he fell.
