Erlich, Raphael (Frantisek)


Son of Franz and Miriam. He was born on July 13, 1938 in Prague, Czechoslovakia. In 1943 he was orphaned from his father who was sent to a concentration camp. Throughout the war, the family hid, equipped with forged papers. From 1947 to 1949, Raphael lived with his older brother and two sisters in a Jewish children’s home in Prague. In 1949 he immigrated with his sister to Israel following his older brother. At first he was educated at Kibbutz Gan Shmuel and when they immigrated to Israel his mother and younger sister moved to Hadera. He was educated at the children’s home in Kiryat Ye’arim and even joined the core group in Kibbutz HaMa’apil. When his older brother enlisted in the IDF, he rejoined his family to support them, working in a laboratory and an electrical and radio shop in Hadera, and he liked to draw cartoons and play jokes and jokes, and he was kind, willing to help anyone and loved animals. He was courageous and daring and did not know fear, and everyone liked him for being good and kind and kind, and he was drafted into the IDF in April 1956 and served as a driver. In his service he saw a national duty that symbolizes the connection between him and his people and his homeland. After being released from compulsory service, he worked for a while in Kibbutz Magal as a driver, and after he married a wife, he bought a truck with the help of his family and worked as a driver. Over the years he had three daughters and a son and Raphael loved them passionately and cared for them in the eye of his eye. Even when he joined the regular army he would spend every hour with them. He was the entertainer of the group, cheerful and full of pranks and during difficult times he would raise the morale of the boys. On the 30th of Tevet 5731 (30.12.1970), he fell while carrying out his duties in Neot Hakikar in the Arava, leaving four children and was brought to eternal rest in the military section of the Hadera cemetery.
